HOLE #5
Another special par three. Number 5 is surrounded by beautiful vegetation, including live oaks, love grass, and azaleas. Its setting resembles a blend of Oakmont, Pine Valley , and Augusta National. Though it looks easy enough, it does present several challenges. The water doesn’t come into play, except from the back tees…and even from there it should not be a problem to carry. Next subtle challenge…the green is slightly elevated, probably equates to about a half a club in your club selection. Another challenge…like number three, the green runs diagonally away from the tee, this time from right to left. Be aware that this green is not very deep, and bunkers lurk behind. Distance can also be a factor as this hole will play over 200 yards from the back tees. On this hole, the bail out area is actually short of the green, but you should be firing at the flag here.
