HOLE #16
Short, but certainly not sweet. Only a wedge or very short iron needed, but accuracy is a must. Anything left, right, or short is a problem. A fairly large green sits on top of a knoll, with extremely steep slopes on all sides of the green. Be sure you hit over the diabolical pot bunker directly in front of the green…this one is difficult to get out of, let alone get up and down from. Although the hole may be a bit dastardly, it certainly is beautiful. At least a dozen different types of plants can be found on number 16. Thomas Walker must have had Pine Valley on his mind when he designed this hole. It will probably be the toughest 110-140 yards you will ever have to navigate. Hit a smooth iron to the green here, make par, and save your strength for the 500-yard, par four 17th…you are going to need it.
